but somehting they made up entirely. The first chapter they didn’t even know if witches existed. Did they already get rid of all the druids by the 1400’s if so, how. CHristianity didn;t start to rise around there till about 300AD. WHere did the druids go?

The druids were exterminated by the Romans, before the spread of Christianity. Druids were seen as essentially non-Roman: a prescript of Augustus forbade Roman citizens to practice “druidical” rites. Under Tiberius, Pliny reported, the druids were suppressed—along with diviners and physicians— by a decree of the Senate, but this had to be renewed by Claudius in 54 BCE. Druids disappeared from the written record by the second century AD.
In Ireland and Scotland, druids may survived after the Roman conquest of the rest of the Celtic world, but the conversion of their followers to Christianity led to the complete disappearance of Druids, long before the 15th century.
